SCAR THERAPY
WHAT IS SCAR THERAPY?
Scars take up to 2 years to heal, and change throughout this timeframe. it's also when they are most vulnerable to sun exposure.
Scar therapy is a gentle, non-invasive manual therapy that helps to:

Reduce tightness and pulling

Improve mobility and range of motion

Reduce sensitivity and pain
-
Promote optimum healing & minimise long term complications

Reduce redness and flatten raised scars
-
Support emotional wellbeing

​Whilst most effective on immature scars, scar therapy is effective on mature scars too. It's never too late for scars to change!
WHAT TYPE OF SCARS CAN IT HELP?
Scar therapy can be beneficial for all scars, but is especially helpful in treating raised, stuck and uncomfortable scars.

Following her experience working with the Armed Forces in Complex Trauma, Jenny went on to train with RESTORE Scar Therapy and gained certification as an Oncology Scar Specialist and C-Section Scar Specialist.

TREATMENT OPTIONS
INITIAL ASSESSMENT - £60
An initial assessment is required for all new clients, and lasts for up to 1 hour. Jenny will take a full history, to understand the mechanism of your scarring, and any additional medical history. A visual and physical assessment of your scar is then undertaken, with a short treatment being provided. Following the assessment you will be given advice on after care, including techniques for self massage, and supporting products. A treatment plan will be discussed including the frequency and duration of any follow up appointments.
FOLLOW UP - £40
Follow up appointments are for any client after an initial assessment and last up to 45minutes. These appointments include treatment of your scarring, and identification of changes since the previous appointment. Any alterations required to your self care will be recommended, including any change in supporting products based on the clinical indications of your scarring. Blocks of treatment can be booked, with no more than 4 being booked in advance.
All mobile appointments are inclusive of travel up to 5 miles from TS20. Any additional travel will incur a fee of £25 per hour and 50p per mile.
